We invited you, our readers, to share your summer travel photographs with us. Here's the first set of responses!

Summer is the time to chill out and relax, catch up on everything you've missed and head out on that well-deserved break. It's the time to travel and explore and we are asking you to share your most memorable snapshot of Summer 2013 with us.

It could be anything -- your toddler venturing into the ocean for the first time, a summer landscape captured from a moving train, a stray dog tucking into an icecream treat from a kind stranger... Photographs from anywhere across India or the world are welcome, but they have to be original.

First up we have this photograph from Vikram Seth of Tarkarli in the Konkan area of Maharashtra. Known for its pristine beaches and amazing food, Tarkarli is also home to one of the best government resorts in the state. An absolute must-visit.
