Unusual summer pics: A descended rainbow!

We invited you to send in unique summer-themed photographs -- odd scenes that are captured on a lens for posterity -- to share with other readers. Here are a few more responses!

First up we have this image from Veetrag, who says, "This is a rainbow shot at Sahelion Ki Bari in Udaipur. In summer, when Rajasthan is crazy hot, this is one of the places which remains cool. A broken fountain's splash makes a wonderful rainbow here. "

Next we have this pic from Hari Govind, who explains, "This was shot in Tadoba Tiger Reserve while waiting at the watering hole for the big cats to appear. Lo! Out came the sambar and her baby to have a drink. The temperature was just beginning to soar."

Viswanath P contributed this image of a sunset shot during a train journey.

"This was a picture I clicked a couple of days ago in a park near my home in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. The colours of this lovely butterfly resting on a pile of dried leaves provided a beautiful visual contrast," says S Ramkishore.

And finally, we have this image from Manish Joshi, who explains, "When the sun beats down mercilessly in April, very little snow is left in the mountains of Sikkim at an altitude of 12,000 feet. The farthest mountain top is Nathu La Pass."
