Partner yoga is an easy, fun way to get your yoga practice going, says yoga acharya Shameem Akthar.
What's special about partner yoga is that although it is part of classical yoga, it is makes difficult poses easier to practice. Partners provide support and help reduce the strain of traditional yoga poses that would be difficult to practice on one's own.
However, for newcomers to yoga it is advisable to seek guidance from a trained yoga instructor before attempting some of the more difficult poses, which could cause severe injury if not done properly, cautions Shameem.
