Shaan sings, catwalks for Troy Costa

Delving into womenswear for the first time, here's what designer Troy Costa put on display at the LFW.

Having established a reputation with his menswear, Troy Costa has now decided to cater to the taste of Indian women with the new label 'Helen of Troy'.

His first collection to be showcased under this label was presented on Day Four of Lakme Fashion Week -- cocktails, tailored suits, evening gowns and dresses took to the ramp, carrying the designer's vision of what a female fashionista is all about.

And to add a little buzz to the occasion, he had singer Shaan open the show with his rendition of Where do I Begin [Click here to watch video] from the classic Love Story (it's certainly been a musical day here at Lakme, what with Sunidhi Chauhan and Salim-Sulaiman putting in an appearance earlier for Shyamal and Bhumika).

First on the ramp was this swirl of fitted maroon, with just a hint of heavily-encrusted bodice peeking out.

A gamut of bright shades create a very retro-feel gown with sparkling detail at the neckline.

Horizontal pleating creates a figure-hugging LBD.

Silky stripes at contrasting angles define a pretty strapless number, knotted at the waist.

Take advantage of a waif-like figure in these trim, embossed pencil pants and matching jacket.

Sometimes the simplest of designs can have the biggest impact, like this brown gown with gold cinched detailing at the waist.

This red carpet beauty, with its fresh, sky blue satin is elegance personified.

Being a mens' designer, Costa can't resist sending out a couple of formal suits for the guys -- and this one, with its great tailoring, certainly meets the cut.

Another gorgeous evening gown takes to the runway in rich wine, with a slit at the bodice and lovely jewelled touches at the waist and shoulder

Washed black and looking sharp, a bow-tied suit is up next.

Sparkling with encrusted embroidery,this lilac ankle-sweeper makes a statement.

Shaan, looking dapperand his wife Radhika in a gold ensemble, step out in style.

Costa lines up with his celeb guests as the show comes to an end.
