On Day Five of the LFW, designer Kallol Datta stuck to his preference for the morbid and the shocking. Showcasing his latest collection, Avante Garde F***, which was inspired by infestation, tumours, landmines and bullet wounds (!), here's a glimpse of what took to the runway.
Commencing the show was Surelee Joseph in this calico antifit tunic.
A statement about landmines
Note how some of the stick figures printed all over the dress is missing half a leg -- that is the designer's silent statement against landmines.
Bulky yellow
Next we have this yellow dragonfly print drape, worn over a black bodysuit and leggings.
Sack flack
Candice Pinto struts her stuff in a sack dress bearing the designer's by now trademark print.
Abstract with attitude
Straight and wide cuts are the mainstay of the collection, as is apparent from this abstract number.
Troubled vision
Surelee steps out once more in a number called 'Troubled Vision' -- maybe that's why the hues fade into each other and it's all so hazy!
On his toes
Colourful Kallol steps out for just a quick wave before flitting back into the wings, like his dragonflies.
