In just a few short years, London-raised Amrit Maghera has scaled the heights of India's high fashion world. As one of Lakme's top stars, her face adorns billboards all over Mumbai, and she's even hosting her own night-time show on the city's party circuit.
Rediff.com caught up with the half-Indian half-British model after one of her shows at Lakme Fashion Week.
This is what she had to say.
What's your personal style?
I'd say it's a little edgy, very London, and a bit quirky. I think even a bit rocker-chick.
How do you take care of your skin?
My mom, who is Indian, has amazing skin. It's really, really gorgeous. So I think my skin is a product of my good genes, more than anything. But I also make sure to drink a lot of water, and being a Lakme girl, I use their products religiously.
Any advice for aspiring models?
Believe in yourself. Have confidence. And if you really, really want it, you can definitely make it. Just never give up.
