Childhood memory…
I have some amazing memories of celebrating Diwali during my childhood days. Being the eldest daughter it was my responsibility to decorate the entire house.
After the Laxmi-Ganesh puja our first job was to light up the earthen lamps and burst crackers.
Staying away from family now, I ensure to follow the same rituals here as well and feel at home. The only difference being here I celebrate this festival with my extended family i.e. my close friends. However, this year I will also be celebrating it with my co-stars of Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke.

Childhood memory...
As a child, I used to go out with my father every Diwali to buy crackers. This used to make me very happy and I still cherish those memories. Every Diwali I make it a practice to gift sweets and diyas to all my friends.
I don’t usually burst noisy crackers like bombs and rockets, but prefer lighting up anaars, chakrees and phul-jhadis that are not noisy at all.
The decibel level of bombs and the smoke they emit is destructive not just to the environment but human health and well being too. That is why I don’t think there is any kind of fun in bursting noisy crackers!

What are your Diwali plans this year?
I will try and be with my family in Chandigarh.
Childhood memory...
When I turned 18, my dad asked me to distribute Diwali gifts that made me drive around with friends in and around Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali. Since then, it was one thing I looked forward to.
Favourite food...
I love Indian sweets, and since Diwali ensures enough supply of them, I completely indulge!!

What are your Diwali plans this year?
This Diwali will be spent with my family. I am very excited that after a long time I will get to eat homemade food prepared by my mother. We have Lakshmi puja at home, and the entire house will be decorated and lit up with diyas.
The thought of playing with fireworks, eating sweets, and being with my family is already making me nostalgic. I hope everyone a prosperous and happy Diwali with their families.

What are your Diwali plans this year?
For the past 10 years I have been shooting during Diwali. I like to work on auspicious days. After my shoot gets done I perform Laxmi puja at my house which is followed with a small family get-together.
Diwali for me is about lights, delicious food and family time. I plan to do the same this year too!

Childhood memory...
One that is still fresh in my mind is that I would wait for my dad to come back from work and then light diyas around our house.
Favourite food...
I'm a hardcore foodie. But Diwali is the time to go crazy on sweets.

What are your Diwali plans this year?
This year Diwali will be in Mumbai with my family. I used to love bursting crackers. But as I grew I understood what it really does and the more I understood the more I went away from crackers but Diwali is beyond that for me. It’s the time when new things begin in my family around Laxmi puja, greetings and new clothes for all.

This Diwali I will not be bursting crackers but only having sweets.
Childhood memory...
Bursting crackers with my loved ones, gorging on sweets without stopping.
Most memorable Diwali...
I went to Matheran with a group of friends and enjoyed the festive season there. We were eating only sweets, so gained a couple pounds. I like picking up unusual stuff.
In Matheran you will get Indian clothes which are very uncommon, so I did lot of shopping there.

What are your Diwali plans this year?
This Diwali I will not be bursting crackers but only having sweets.
I am hoping to be with my family this time for Diwali. My brother and bhabhi (sister-in-law) plan to fly to India from Dubai to join Dad and me in Delhi. Since this would be my bhabhi's first Diwali in our house after marriage it would be special.
Childhood memory...
My grandmother making sweets at home and every Diwali night we would have black chana (grams) and rice which was a custom in our family. Every time I taste that dish it makes me smile.
And my memorable Diwali has to be all the Diwalis spent at my grandmother’s place.

What are your Diwali plans this year?
This Diwali I will not be bursting crackers but only having sweets.
I will be in Mumbai, and celebrate Diwali here with friends, probably a house party!
Childhood memory...
My childhood Diwali celebrations were the best. As terrible as I feel now for the environment, I used to love bursting crackers with all my cousins and play cards with my dad and his friends. But now I have really sobered down when it comes to celebrating Diwali; no more crackers and all.
Favourite food...
I love Indian sweets especially gujiya, kulfi, ras malai and the list goes on.
