Escentual.com, one of the UK's biggest online retailers of perfumes, cosmetics and grooming products conducted a poll to establish the most popular celebrity fragrances. Here are the results!
When celebs lend their names and faces to consumer products, it generates an intense demand in the consumer market. And signature fragrances are a big part of this billion dollar ballgame.
Every second star today is launching a perfume and goes on to spin the venture into a flourishing mini business empire. But which celebs are leading the race?
In the following pages, we bring you the findings of a poll by Escentual.com to determine who's doing the best business in the industry -- take a look!
1. Jennifer Lopez
Since she launched her first range 10 years ago, the Latina lovely has raked in 50 million dollars from her signature perfume lines -- 18 in all, of which the 'Glow' range has seen the most success.
In fact, JLo makes more money off her fragrances than her music. The Daily Mail quoted Escentual founder Rakesh Aggarwal as saying, "J-Lo remains the queen of the scent industry. I am sure starring on American Idol...has helped sales."
2. Sarah Jessica Parker

Coming in second is Sex and the City star Sarah, who debuted her first scent 'Lovely' in 2005. It did so well, it was followed by another in 2007, and another in 2009 and...yes, now it's a multi-million dollar range.
3. Madonna

The Queen of Pop launched her first perfume 'Truth or Dare' earlier this year and true to style, the advertisement was so bold it was deemed too racy for television!
The print campaign, however, is slightly more toned down and the fragrance itself is a massive hit, so that Madonna's raced past her competitors to land third place on the list.
4. Britney Spears

Close on Madge's heels in fourth place is Britney, who has been dabbling in the fragrance industry for eight years now.
Her first, 'Curious' in partnership with Elizabeth Arden, was launched in 2004 and broke the company record for a perfume's first-week gross. By 2011 she had released eight more and re-issued a bestseller, 'Radiance'.
The pop princess' various scents have netted her an estimated $1.5 billion over the years.
5. Avril Lavigne

Rounding off the Escentual top five is Avril, who has released three perfumes to date -- 'Black Star', 'Forbidden Rose' and 'Wild Rose'. 'Black Star', the first, was released in 2009 and even won an award. Needless to say, all her scents are massive successes and have netted the star millions of dollars.
6. Christina Aguilera

Christina first released two fragrances in Europe -- 'Xpose' and 'Simply Christina' in 2004 and 2007 respectively. The latter became one of the UK's bestsellers, as well as Germany's; 'Simply Christina' also won people's choice for favorite celebrity fragrance at the annual UK Fifi Awards 2008.
She now has a total of six to her name, all fabulous successes -- and you can be sure Xtina is not done yet!
7. Kim Kardashian

Cashing in on her reality TV fame we have Kim in seventh place.
In 2010 she launched a fragrance bearing her name and it literally flew off the shelves, leading to a new one called 'Gold' launched in 2011, followed by 'Love' later in the year to coincide with her shortlived marriage.
In May of 2012, she launched 'True Reflection' and her four scents are now a sizeable source of income.
8. Katy Perry

Katy jumped on the scent bandwagon in 2010 with her scent 'Purr', inspired by her love of cats -- it became a bestseller for the first nine weeks after its launch.
'Purr' was succeeded by a sister fragrance 'Meow' in December last year, which is also doing well enough to propel the quirky popster to the perfume popularity list.
9. Dannii Minogue

When the former X Factor judge set up her 'Project D' fashion label with design partner Tabitha Sommerset Webb, the twosome also released a fragrance of the same name in 2010. It comes in the way of three purse sprays that can be mixed together to create a heady scent or worn individually.
And yes, both the fashion line and perfume are going places -- high places.
10. Katie Price

The only British star to make the Escentual top 10 was glamour model and reality star Katie Price. Her first perfume was 'Stunning', released in August 2007. The second, 'Besotted', was launched in 2008 and 'Precious Love' in 2010.
All three are huge on sales, propelling the blonde bombshell to figure among the top bestsellers of the moment.
