Floral funk

Say it with flowers -- blooming beauties are where it's at for the moment. Opt for large or small prints in a riot of vibrant colour.

Hoops, studs, buckles -- any swimsuit that is embellished with one of these hardware add-ons is bound to make a statement. Last year it was metallic, this year it's metal!

This is not a style that suits everyone, but it's on-trend. A pair of high-waisted briefs with a bikini top will definitely have you standing out in the crowd. Just make sure it's in a good way!

Bring a bit of the bedroom onto the beach -- swimwear embellished with hints of lace, mesh and any other lingerie-like quality is spot-on and sure to grab plenty of eye-balls!

Tribal tantalisers are another seasonal must-have. Go African, Moroccan, Aboriginal Australian -- colourful and exotic, these patterns are definitely a step in the right direction.

The skimpier the better! Triangle tops and tie-up bottoms held together with barely-there strings are super-sexy. If you've got the bod to carry them off, that is.

Carrying over from 2010, sailor stripes in blues and whites are cropping up on hotties all over the globe. Looks like the nautical look is set for another successful year!
