At an Indo-French rendezvous, Indian designers showcased their collections at an intimate showing.

Stunning models in sarongs, evening gowns and jumpsuits sizzled the ramp at a fashion show in Mumbai recently.

Veteran and young Indian designers had come together to participate in a dialogue with Jean-Luc Margot Duclot, Senior Vice-President Paris Region Economic Development Agency (PREDA).

Designers such as James Ferreira, Anu M, Lascelles Symons, Gayatri Khanna and Sangeeta Khanna along with Senka De Silva, the textile designer from Sri Lanka discussed fashion and showed off their latest collection.

This beachwear ensemble by Anu M might be tad too conservative for some -- what with that pair of tights under the sarong -- but could well be the thing for you shy ones.

Though we quite liked the way Anu M has styled a simple scarf, we'd imagine it to be a little stuffy around the neck for a walk on the humid beaches of India.

Sri Lankan textile designer Senka De Silva brought in a touch of her ethnicity to the ramp with this funky jumpsuit.

A Hawaiian-style dress made out of lace? Looks good to us, Senka.

What we like about Mumbai-based James Ferreira is he doesn't fall into the rigmarole of fashion weeks. So it's always a pleasure seeing the veteran belt out some of his eclectic stuff like this one.

Yet another lovely off-shoulder single piece dress in canary yellow by James Ferreira.

Though this one seemed tad blingy at the outset, we couldn't help noticing how Gayatri Khanna managed to keep it so simple at the same time. Notice there isn't any jewellery to go with this one. A simple clutch at best and you're set for the evening.
