The weather may be wet, but they continue to sizzle! Here are 2011's monsoon trends, showcased by celebrities.
Pleated shorts, Wellington boots, see-through umbrellas -- we're taking our cue from these famous faces, who don't let the rains put a damper on their fashionista reputation.
Here's the lowdown on what you should be stepping out in this rainy season!
When it comes to umbrellas, see-through brollies are cute and practical. Duchess of Cambridge Catherine Middleton is apparently a fan, if this recent pic is anything to go by -- it suits her casual togs and the wet weather to the tee!
Colour up!

So a simple see-through is a bit too demure for you? Go for a brighter variation like this polka-dotted one modelled by Jessica Stam at the Victoria's Secret lingerie fashion show. And don't miss that mini raincoat -- although it's hardly practical, we've never seen one sexier!
Bright and spritely

Yellow is the 'it' colour for this monsoon and Kiran Rao is definitely on-trend with her chic handbag. Moreover, it's patent leather, which is waterproof -- no sense carrying a tote that allows moisture to seep through!

Formal occasion? No sweat. Follow the lead of heiress Paris Hilton and opt for a small patent clutch, although we're guessing there'll be no room for an umbrella in there!
Balloon shorts

When it comes to apparel, balloon shorts are really haute at the moment. And the best part is that you can sport a totally casual look in them or then a formal and flirty one like Blake Lively here -- all they need is a pair of high heels!
Pleated pleasers

Even without a bubble hem, pleated shorts are pretty much where it's at this year -- we love this bright pink pair worn by actress Heike Makatsch. You see, not all are for beach bumming!
Dazzle in denim

For a no-fuss approach, denim crops are best. Check out Khloe Kardashian here, who jazzes up her Daisy Dukes with high heels and yes, a bright yellow bag!
Wonderful wellies

Wellington boots have always been popular in the UK, but they're beginning to surface in our part of the world too. Model Lily Cole channels her inner rock chick here in a basic black pair.

But why opt for black wellies? Make like TV presenter Fearne Cotton in her slick red boots, which are both funky and fabulous!
Take it down a notch

If knee-highs don't appeal to you, you can always opt for anklets like singer Eliza Doolittle's -- they seem to be catching on of late.
The 2011 look

Boots, check. Pleated shorts, check. If only Geri Halliwell was carrying a brolly, she'd score a perfect 10 for monsoon style in this pic!
Jump into the jumpsuit

If you want to go sexy and low-maintenance, a jumpsuit like the one Karolina Kurkova's posing in is ideal. Remember, the keyword for the rains is 'short'!
Poncho pretty

Elizabeth Jagger is all smiles in her see-through hooded poncho -- the rain doesn't seem to get her down! Quite a cute monsoon acquisition, we say.
Trench trend

And finally, if you want to belt up all business-like, a waterproof trenchcoat like Janet Jackson's is what you need. But be warned, these usually cost a pretty penny!
