PICS: Kareena Kapoor catwalks TWICE for LFW grand finale!

A joint showing by designers Kallol Datta and duo Pankaj & Nidhi brought Lakme Fashion Week to a grand close last night, with the Bollywood actress showstopping for both collections. Photographs: Rajesh Karkera

The curtain came down in style on the fifth and final day of the LFW with showings by Kallol Datta and Pankaj & Nidhi and B-Town glamour courtesy Lakme brand ambassador Kareena Kapoor.

The creations from both labels were inspired by sponsor Lakme's latest Absolute Monochrome makeup line, a a collection of edgy, glam products that take up on the current colour-blocking trend, created in association with makeup expert Clint Fernandes.

To start things off, models showcased these latest offerings for eyes, lips and nails from Lakme clad in black jumpsuits.

Dramatic eyes, lips and nails take centrestage.

A few quirky touches are added on to add emphasis on the brilliant colour and shine of the makeup line.

The makeup presentation was followed by Kallol Datta's latest line called 'Cuts' from his label 1955, which featured four different signature prints -- faces, snails, mating and abstract safety pins.

Inspired by the black and white of the Lakme Absolute Monochrome range, the mix-and-match garments included voluminous skirts, slashed sleeves, long gowns with fabric tassels, giant choirboy collars with fabric edges, and tops with unbalanced tie-ups.

Here we see a series of black ensembles, the safety-pin print on two.

The designer offers up an olive and ivory tunic featuring the 'faces'.

Kavita Kharayat steps out in a white dress with the pockets and button-down collar askew.

A rare bit of bling makes its way out courtesy this foil tunic and sheer panelled pants.

It's time for the 'snails' in black and white, seen on a variety of silhouettes, including a sari.

Kareena Kapoor steps into the limelight wearing the showstopper, a hoodie tunic and black body suit.

The reticent designer makes a rare appearance on the ramp, posing with Bebo -- it's the first time he didn't quickly retired into the wings after a quick wave!

Duo Pankaj and Nidhi's line 'Monochrome', named after Lakme's makeup range, was a contemporary play of kaleidoscopic patterns.

The garments featured geometrics and origami with rich textures and diverse fabrics; interestingly, all were shown on black bodysuits.

Seen here is Deepti Gujral in a lovely poncho, worn over an asymmetric skirt.

A stunning cape coat shows off intricate workmanship.

Black and white bring out the best in a series of dramatic silhouettes.

Sucheta Sharma steps out in a basket weave waistcoat featuring a dash of colour.

Pink and grey are added onto the palette courtesy this kimono-style mini.

Deepti takes to the ramp once again, this time in a weave coat with asymmetric hem, worn over palazzo pants.

Hemangi Pate, Candice Pinto and Sanea Shaikh showcase flamboyant textured ensembles in blue and black.

Kareena Kapoor takes centrestage once more, in a dramatic leather tasselled number.

Pankaj and Nidhi proudly make their way out alongside their A-list showstopper.
