Just what does it take to maintain a world-class bikini bod? Our Bollywood bombshell tells us all about it.
On February 1, the lovely Lara Dutta graced an event at a Mumbai spa and gave us the lowdown on her lifestyle over the past couple of years. So if you want to look fab too, read on!
If you're under the impression that beauties like her just have to fall out of bed to look beautiful, you're under the wrong impression. The actress puts a lot of effort into maintaining herself. Lara's day starts very early -- she's up at 6:30 am and hits the gym, following which she has a healthy, filling breakfast. Nothing is more important than peace of mind, and improving her productivity for the day that stretches ahead.
The right nutrition
"It's important to get maximum nutrition in the mornings -- that's very important," says Lara. "I eat healthy, nutritive stuff that is full of fibre and which fills me up. I later eat a light dinner," says Lara.
Recovery and rejuvenation with yoga

"It's basically about bringing a balance to your nervous system," she says. "I also believe it's important to find what kind of yoga works best for you. There are many forms of yoga today and you need to find the right speed, rhythm, and exercises that help you recover and rejuvenate yourself."
Think 'energise', not 'size'!

The actress insists that it is her energy levels that matter the most to her, not her size.
"I have never really been obese," she maintains. "Neither have I put on any extra weight."
Her workouts and yoga have nothing to do with the conventional conclusion -- dropping dress sizes -- rather, it's all about staying fit. "I have been almost the same size throughout," Lara explains, "But I do recommend a good combination of weight training and yoga; these can compliment each other."
Wellness is also about finding peace of mind

And of course, it's not all about the physical aspect of things either. According to Lara, wellness is also about finding peace of mind.
"Yoga helps one slow down the mind and focus better," she muses. "I am completely at my wits' end if I am unable to practice yoga for a few days at a stretch! Once you get into the flow it's difficult to leave it, precisely because of the way it affects your energy levels."
Her soon-to-be-hubby, tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi, is also on the fitness ball. "He's tuning himself into it too," the actress enthuses.
