The Miss India USA pageant sees young beauties of Indian origin from across several states in the US compete annually; the winner then receives a shot at the grand Miss India Worldwide crown.
Emerging victorious this year was Miss India New York Chandan Preeni Kaur, a 23-year-old business administration student. Chandan holds a bachelor's degree in the field and is now pursuing her master's. Her hobbies include painting, travelling and cooking.

Chandan received her crown from last year's winner, Natasha Arora, a a third-year student at the University of Texas-Austin.
She will now compete in the international contest for the title of Miss India Worldwide 2011 on February 25, in Suriname.
