Here's a glimpse of the runway action at Fashion Rio Summer 2012-13, featuring colourful creations from Brazil's swimwear fraternity.
Besides its beautiful women, Brazil is also known for its amazingly vibrant (and daring) swimwear. And last week's Fashion Rio Summer 2012-13 had a real treat in store as designers offered up their best sizzling beach designs, over the course of five days.
In the following pages, we bring you the vivacious trends seen on the catwalk that dictates what sexy ladies the world over wear when bikini season arrives. Take a look.
We start off with this cheeky high-waisted two-piece from collection Triya, with a full-sleeved upper top sporting tassels. Whether at a carnival or the beach, it's all the same in Rio -- colourful and sexy!

Next up is this psychedelic mish-mash monokini, featuring a sheer netted panel at the neck.
Touch of tribal

A foliage pattern bikini is up next, with a touch of tribal influence thanks to the accessories in particular.
Android inspiration

The model's metal mesh shades add some android appeal to this bold, strappy design.
Demure detour

In contrast to the offerings from Triya, this strapless one-piece from label Auslander is rather demure and set off by a sensual black see-through robe.
Mix and match

Creations from brand Poko Pano saw plenty of mix and match -- and plenty of skin too! You need a great bod (and attitude) to carry off such risks.
Bare minimum

This brunette beauty strikes a pose in a strapless top and what seems to be one of Brazil's 'fio dental' or 'dental floss' bikini bottoms -- the back is so skimpy, it can literally be compared to a bit of floss!
Plunging palm

Poko Pano offers up a plunging palm print next, with sides cut so high a contrast belt is needed to preserve modesty.

Mixing prints looks like it's set to become a trend -- here's another two-piece in the same vein.
Crossover style

We get our first glimpse of a solid colour on the ramp -- a white cross-over top matched with metal-embellished floral bottoms.
Making a statement

Next up are a few unusual designs from Brazilian label Lenny, starting with this jaw-dropping mesh one-piece. It hardly leaves a thing to the imagination!
Keyhole class

A blue underwater print swimsuit sports a plunging keyhole cut -- in case you thought things would get any tamer!
Neon nuances

The neon trend comes to the fore with this halter bikini, definitely not for the faint-hearted.
Stripe overdrive

From the house of Salinas, we see a woven bandeau number in orange and black stripes, complete with matching accessories.
Bow-tied beauty

Bow-tied at the bust, a cut-away creation sports a vibrant pattern of the summer sky.
Kitschy combo

Salinas continues along the same colour-clashing path with this frilly little bikini -- love it or hate it, you can't ignore it!
Checkered up

And finally, they offer up this adorable checkered bikini with bow-tied detailing and a single ruffle.
