Currently it is the cheapest Windows Phone 8 based smartphone and is available for around Rs 7,500. Not only the brand of Nokia, but Lumia 520 has several pluses that elevated it to this list of The Mobile Indian.
Launched in May this year Nokia Lumia 520 comes with a 4-inch touchscreen. The IPS-LCD display has 800 x 480 pixel resolution, which translates to a good 233.24 ppi pixel density. Lumia 520 comes in red, yellow, white, cyan and black colours and looks gorgeous in all the versions.
It has a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual core processor, which runs on Windows Phone 8 operating system and 512 MB RAM. This does not look very good alongside Android phones, which come with quad core processors and 1 GB RAM, but the Nokia Lumia 520 is consistently smooth and has slick hardware.
Another highlight of Lumia 520 is its storage -- it comes with 8 GB ROM and a 64 GB micro SD card slot. Most Android handsets under Rs 10,000 come with 4 GB ROM and a 32 GB expandable storage facility. Lumia 520 also has a decent 5 megapixel camera but it misses out on a front camera and flash.
The 9.9 mm thick Lumia 520, which weighs only 124 grams, also comes armed with a single SIM slot, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS with Glonass and A-GPS support. Besides, it has a set of exclusive Nokia applications like Nokia Maps, Nokia Mix Radio etc.
