Samsung launches Galaxy Tab 7.7 in India, Tab 2 globally

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 DT-P6800, also known as the Galaxy Tab 680, has been launched in India, with the device listed on Flipkart at Rs. 33,571. The device runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb, but will get an Android 4.0 ICS upgrade soon.

Specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 include a 7.7-inch SuperAMOLED Plus display with a 1280x800 pixels resolution, a dual-core 1.4GHz Exynos processor, Mali 400 GPU, 1GB of RAM, as well as 3G (HSDPA, 21 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps), Wi-Fi (dual-band, 802.11 a/b/g/n, hotspot, direct) and GPS connectivity.

The Galaxy Tab 7.7 runs on a 5,100 mAh battery, rated to deliver up to 10 hours of continuous playback time. which offers up to 10 hours of video playback time.

In the meanwhile, Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), which will ship with Ice Cream Sandwich onboard. The device, mostly the same as the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, will launch in March.
