Whether it is fitness, advisories, fashion tips, taking care of lists and supplies or enhancing personal security, there is a wealth of apps for women to make their life easier, says Shruti Singh.
Women have to handle several things at the same time and ensure everything runs smoothly. Every time. A number of apps available in various app stores with specific needs of women in mind can be a great advantage. While women have done fine without technology for ages, with apps one can get more organised and anticipate, plan and accomplish goals.
Whether it is health and fitness, advisories, fashion tips, taking care of lists and supplies or enhancing personal security, there is a wealth of apps for women to make their life easier.
These are a few iPhone and Android apps to put those resources at your fingertips quickly.
Save My Soul
This multi-platform mobile app, available free on iOS and Google Play Store, is easy to download and install, and simple to use in times of emergenies. Among its features are a 'help me now' option on the screen which immediately captures the GPS location of the user in trouble, and alerts a list of emergency contacts the user can designate after signing in.
Significantly, in case of data connectivity not being available, the app switches to SMS mode tracking to collect data about your location and sends it to the server of the app through an SMS.
There is also a call back option where a person from the 'Save My Soul' team can call the user in case the system senses that the user is in trouble. The member will then call the user. While the system sends SMSes to friends and emergency contacts, upon no response from them, it will place a call to the police with the last known GPS location of the user.
An absolute must in these troubling times!
