With the festive season upon us and Diwali coming up, we bring you these special recipes to celebrate the festive season. You can share yours too!
It is that time of the year again when the festive cheer is all around. And when festivities are in the air, can food be far behind?
We asked a few people what special dessert they plan to make during the festive season.
Here, we bring you some interesting recipes to sweeten up your Diwali:
Sago Banana Kheer
Ingredients
- Half a cup of sago pearls
- A litre of milk
- Two ripe bananas
- A cup of sugar
- A handful of chopped almond and raisin
Method
- Soak the sago pearls overnight so that they become soft
- Take a pan and boil a litre of milk in it
- Transfer the sago pearls and stir
- Once it begins to thicken add the sugar and the banana slices
- Mix it in
- Let the kheer simmer for a few minutes before taking it off the flame
- Garnish with slivers of almond and raisins
- Serve hot

Pumpkin Fudge
Ingredients
- 100 grams of grated pumpkin
- A cup of condensed milk
- Half a cup of grated coconut
- Half a cup of chopped walnuts
Method
- Add a few spoons of ghee in a pan and let it melt.
- Add the grated pumpkin and stir well.
- Turn down the flame.
- Add the condensed milk and stir.
- Add the coconut and mix well till the mixture becomes thick.
- Add the chopped walnuts and mix it in.
- Transfer it into a greased flat bottomed dish.
- Cut it into squares and let it cool before taking the pieces out.

Fruit Seviyaan Kheer
Ingredients
- 100 gms seviyaan (vermicelli)
- ¼ cup of peeled and cut peaches into tiny pieces
- ¼ cup of cut banana into tiny pieces
- ¼ cup of cut pear into tiny pieces
- 1 litre of milk
- 1/3 cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon green cardamom powder
- A few spoons of ghee
Method
- Heat a spoon of ghee in a pan and lightly roast the vermicelli.
- Add the milk and keep stirring so that it does not become lumpy.
- Once it begins to boil add the fruits and stir well.
- When the mixture begins to thicken, add sugar and cardamom powder.
- Mix well and serve in small bowls.
