Can your mango recipes lift the European Union's ban on the Alphonso?
Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the European Union Commission, has banned the import of Alphonso mangoes to the European Union.
The reason? Apparent contamination of EU salad crops by Indian fruit flies that apparently travel along with the mangoes.
Has Senor Barroso savoured the Alphonso?
Does he know what these amazing mangos taste like?
One bite of the Alphonso, and we bet Senor Barroso will be ordering these magnificent mangos by the millions.
Send us your best mango recipes to getahead@rediff.co.in (with subject line 'Best Mango Recipe') which we hope to forward to Senor Barroso so that he can lift the ban on the Alphonso pronto.
We will, of course, also publish these mouth-watering mango recipes on Rediff.com :)
