From their names to minority rights, check out what's so appealing about these Indian universities...

The city of New Delhi has 26 universities -- the maximum in any city followed by Jaipur (25) and Chennai (22).

Most of the private and deemed universities are in Jaipur (18) and Chennai (12) respectively.

In contrast, the Union Territories of Lakshwadeep, Daman and Diu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Dadar and Nagar Haveli do not have a single university.

The Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi is the only central university that has a 50 per cent reservation for Muslims, yet has all the privileges and rights of a central university in the country.

There are 22 universities in the name of Gandhi -- eight each named after Mahatama Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, five after Indira Gandhi and one after Sanjay Gandhi.

Meanwhile, Dr B R Ambedkar and Jawaharlal Nehru have a total of 11 and eight universities named after them respectively.
