The results of the annual QS Global 200 Business Schools Report have been released and India's Indian Institute of Management-Ahmebadad has been ranked second best next to INSEAD, Singapore in the Asia Pacific region.
The report compiled by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a leading networking organisation in higher education consists of 82 schools in North America, 67 schools in Europe, 36 schools in Asia-Pacific, 10 schools in Latin America and 5 schools in Africa and the Middle East.
The other Indian management institutes that have figured in the top 20 include Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (fifth), ISB Hyderabad (seventh), IIM Calcutta (eighth) and SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai (sixteenth).
The QS global ranking report has been compiled following the opinions of HR and line managers who employ MBA graduates.
Reportedly, IIM-A has shown considerable improvement in performance which explains why it has jumped to the second place from sixth position last year.
1. INSEAD Singapore

The school offers a full-time MBA programme, a PhD in management programme, and several executive education programmes (including an Executive MBA).
2. Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad, India

It has a 100-acre campus and enrolls about 800 full time students and 1,500 executives across 300 courses.

Established in 1956 as the premier business school under the University of Melbourne, the first MBA degree that was awarded in 1965 was incidentally also the first MBA degree ever awarded to a student in Australia.
4. NUS Business School, Singapore

Established in the year 1905, it is one of the oldest autonomous institutions of study in Singapore.

6. Australian Graduate School of Management, Australia

7. Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, India
