The movie star says she isn't doing movies anymore because of her children. Would you give up your career for your kids?
Between being a mother and being an actress, Kajol has made her choice.
Perhaps India's most talented actress, Kajol recently told reporters that the reason she's quit movies is so she could be with her kids.
"My children need my attention and it's my duty to give them my time," she said.
"I have not given birth to them to just dump them and go off to work.
"I am not that kind of a person."
What she says might resonate with many young mothers, struggling to strike a healthy work-life balance:
But at a time when couples are increasingly finding it difficult to make ends meet, is it really a feasible option for the middle-class?
Then of course, there is the matter of financial independence that often comes only with a full-time job.
Giving up one's career for one's child is one of those tricky situations.
