The results for the Maharashtra HSC March 2012 exams were announced today at 1 pm.
The overall pass percentage for Maharashtra is 74.46 percent with the Konkan region leading the results with an overall pass percentage of 86.25 per cent.
Kolhapur came second with an overall pass percentage of 82.14 per cent closely followed by Pune at 82.12 per cent.
Meanwhile, the overall pass percentage for the Mumbai region is 76.14, which is higher than last year's 69.52.
Like almost always, girls have outperformed boys across the state with the maximum number of girls passing from Konkan region
In the Mumbai region, students who took Vocational Science have fared exceptionally better than their science, commerce and arts counterparts.
More than 17 lakh students had appeared for the Higher Secondary Certificate exam in the state this year.
The Maharashtra State Board Of Secondary And Higher Secondary Education, Pune has announced that the mark sheets will be issued in one week after the results are declared.
However unlike earlier when students would have to wait for the hard copy of mark sheets to arrive so that they could apply to colleges, this year the board authorities are allowing students to take a printout of the mark sheet that is available online so that they can apply for the new academic year from June 2, 2012.
As per the Right to Information Act, from this year students can also receive photocopies of their answer sheets by paying Rs 400 per subject.
Photocopies of answer sheets will be made available June 8, 2012 onwards.

You can also get your Maharashtra HSC exam results on SMS via rediff.com.
To receive your result on your mobile phone, SMS MHHSC followed by your Seat No to 573335000. For eg, if your HSC seat number is P153000, SMS MHHSC P153000 to 573335000.
Results will be released on SMS by all leading mobile phone operators except BSNL.
