Here are the five things that smart people do on a Friday and over the weekend.

Finally it's Friday! You have been eagerly looking forward to it since Monday.

1. Set some goals

Try and indulge in activities that you can't spare time for during the weekdays.

But that doesn't mean you should spend the weekend glued to the TV.

It is a source of entertainment and information that enriches your mind, but not the body.

Partake in activities that rejuvenate you wholly.

Go for a run or play any sport that exercise your body.

Invest time in your favourite hobby, whether it's woodworking or gardening. The great outdoors awaits you.

3. Early bird catches the worm, even on weekends

If you earned the weekend, then you should make the most of it.

Ideally it's the time to catch up on your sleep but in doing so, you are missing out on the fun part of the weekend.

Waking up early helps you maintain the weekday schedule. It is an organised way of having maximum fun.

Treat yourself to a special breakfast and plan your whole day.

If at all you feel tired during the day, an afternoon nap can completely refresh your mind and restore your energy for the evening ahead.

You don't have to keep up the disciplinary standards that you uphold during the weekdays.

If there is some pending office work, make sure spare a window of time to finish it so that you don't have to keep taking office calls and replying to e-mails throughout the day.

Just make sure that you do all the weekend chores like laundry and grocery shopping during the day so that you can concentrate on just having fun in the latter part of the day.

5. Beat the Sunday evening blues

Sunday evening feels like the last few minutes before a time bomb explosion, the time bomb being Monday!

Instead of sulking about the short duration of the weekend, you can make the evening worthwhile by planning something fun.

Plan a family dinner at home and make sure you spend time catching up on the latest events in your family and go to bed on a relaxed and happy note.

Avoiding overabundance on technology and spending more time with your family and friends allows you to strengthen your relationships and make up for the limited interaction that you have with them on weekdays.

Remember partying is not the only way to unwind, sometimes family and friends are the best stress busters to revive yourself for the week ahead.
