Ducati has finally launched its latest motorcycle, the Diavel for India. The company is offering its latest and best to Indian customers in three variants. The standard variants, the Carbon variant and the Carbon Red.
The Diavel is the second cruiser from Ducati's stable, the first being the Indiana, which was launched way back in 1986 and was in production for only four years since then.
Ducati has its eyes firm on Harley Davidson owners, and want to woo them to the Italian camp with the Diavel. But what is it all about?

For starters, the Diavel uses a 1198.4cc Testastretta engine, which is nothing other than a retuned version of the 1198 superbike.
It produces all of 162hp at 9500RPM and an insane 127Nm of torque at 8000RPM.
Mated to a 6-speed tranmission, the Diavel comes with Brembo callipers and ABS as standard.

Tyres measure a decent 120/70/ZR 17 at the front and a massic 240/45/ 17 at the rear.
The frame used is steel trellis with cast iron rear subframe and the bike weights in just 210 kgs, which is quite light by standards.

Mirko Bordiga, CEO DUCATI Asia Pacific was all praises when he launched the Diavel to the media at Bengaluru recently. He had the following to say:
The Diavel is, without any doubt, the most exciting innovation in the Ducati 2011 line because it represents a new concept of motorcycle. It is a naked bike because it is essential, light and agile; a cruiser because it is imposing and also comfortable with a passenger; and a sports bike because it has a powerful heart, muscles, and levels of performance that take your breath away.
"Until now," he continued, "no segment has ever captured these characteristics in just one motorcycle. We are extremely satisfied with the Diavel, it represents the very concept of sport and celebrates all that Ducati has achieved in recent years. If the Multistrada 1200 represents the perfect synthesis between functionality and performance, the Diavel creates a new interpretation of performance, this time combined with technology and design.

The Diavel also features traction control system and Ducati Riding Modes. The Ducati Riding Models helps the rider choose between various condition such as touring, urban and sports.
The Carbon variant features carbon fibre bodywork and specially machined forged Marchesini wheels.
This ensures the Ducati not only goes fast, but handles like a charm thanks to the weight reduction caused by carbon fibre technology.

Now the most crucial question: Price. So how much does it cost?
Well, you can have the base/standard Diavel for Rs 17 lakh.
