The much-awaited 500cc version of Thunderbird was launched in Mumbai amidst much fanfare.
Royal Enfield has finally launched the Thunderbird 500 in the Indian market. The Thunderbird 500 is powered by a 499cc single-cylinder petrol engine which produces 27.2 BHP of power and 41.3 Nm of torque.
This engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.

The Thunderbird 500 has many features unseen on a Royal Enfield. The bike carries a twin-pod instrument cluster with a digital display.
Stopping power is provided by disc brakes on the front as well as rear.

The Thunderbird 500 also gets LED tail lamps, LED headlight with projector and 41mm forks.

The Thunderbird 500 is available off the shelf currently but if demand is high, there could be waiting period. Currnetly Royal Enfield has a capacity to produce just 10,000 units a month from its old plant.
