PHOTOS: The NEW Hero Karizma R!

Hero updated the Karizma with minor cosmetic tweaks in 2007, calling it the Karizma R. Now the Karizma is set to get its biggest upgrade yet.

Hero launched the Karizma in 2003 and it instantly became a success.

The Karizma has created it's own legacy and people love the bike even though it has remained unchanged for 10 years. Hero updated the Karizma with minor cosmetic tweaks in 2007, calling it the Karizma R. 

Now the Karizma is set to get its biggest upgrade yet.

The 2014 Hero Karizma gets dual headlights with daytime running lights. The front and rear is all new but the side is unmistakably Karizma. The updated Karizma's rear is inspired from EBR's own superbike while the front seems to be inspired from the Hyosung GT250R.

Powering the updated Karizma R is the same 223cc engine which gets tweaked by EBR to offer increased output. Expect around 19-20 BHP of power on offer which is sure to boost performance.

The underpinnings however remain the same, a bit of a disappointment.

Hero MotoCorp is planning an even bigger update for the Karizma which is due for launch next year. The upcoming Karizma is stop-gap method till Hero brings out its own Karizma, which will use a new engine along with all round updates.
