Bajaj offers KTM Duke 390 at Rs 1.8 lakh

The Duke 390's pricing is introductory and KTM is likely to hike it in the next couple of months.

Bajaj-KTM have launched the Duke 390, which is priced at a very attractive Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Duke 390 is made in India and exported all over the world. Bajaj Auto has achieved 95 per cent localisation on the Duke 390, which helps them price the motorcycle so aggressively.

Bookings are now open and the Duke 390 will be delivered to customers within 90 days of booking.

The KTM Duke 390 uses the same body and underpinnings as the Duke 200 but with some minor changes.

The engine is almost all new and has 95 per cent new parts. The 373.2cc unit is a single-cylinder with liquid-cooling. It produces 43.5 PS of power at 9000 RPM and 35 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM.

The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The top speed of the Duke 390 is 160 km/hr and 0-100 km/hr takes less than 6 seconds.

The KTM Duke 390 comes with ABS as standard. The ABS unit is made by Bosch and can be turned off. Compared to the Duke 200, the Duke 390 gets different colours.

The bike is avialable in only one shade, which is white with graphics and orange coloured Trellis frame and alloy wheels. The seat height has been reduced by 10 mm and is now 800 mm.

A range of accessories are also on offer for the Duke 390, which includes tank bag, windshield, etc. KTM has sold 11,000 units of the Duke 200 in the Indian market and is currently the leader by a long margin in the premium motorcycle space.
