The Indian two-wheeler market is a major hub for manufacturers from across the world and lately they seem to be quite interested in the 150cc motorcycle segment.
The reason behind this ongoing concern is that people are showing a lot of interest in performance bikes but due to high petrol prices, their aspirations stumble and they resort to 150cc machines that give their wants a fine affirmation.
Therefore motorcycle manufacturers are increasingly focussing to launch a new product in this segment that fulfills all the needs of prospective buyers.

Suzuki Gixxer
Suzuki stunned Indian viewers by showcasing its street-fighter bike -- Gixxer back in January this year. It will feature a 155cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with Suzuki Eco Performance technology for better power output and mileage.
Top features:
- 6-speed gearbox
- Telescopic suspensions at the front and a mono-shock rear
- 240mm disc brake at the front and 130mm drum brake at the rear
- 17-inch alloy rims with a 100/80 -- 17 inch front tyre and 140/60 -- 17 inch rear tyre
- It will also have a fully digital instrument cluster incorporating a speedometer, fuel level, trip meter and tachometer
Expected launch: Between October-December 2014
Expected price: Around Rs 75,000. Bookings are open and one can book the vehicle by paying Rs 5,000.

Hero MotoCorp Xtreme Sport

Hero has already launched the Xtreme in a whole new avatar and is planning to introduce another model with more punch and sportiness. It will feature a 149.2cc air-cooled 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine producing 14.4Ps of maximum power and 12.8Nm of net torque.
The Xtreme sport will come with ATFT (Auto Advanced Tumble Flow Induction Technology) for increasing mileage and cleaner emissions.

- 5-speed transmission
- Telescopic Hydraulic Type for the front and rectangular swing arm with 5-step adjustable gas reservoir suspension for the rear
- 18-inch rims with 80/100 x 18-47 P front tyre and 110/90 x 18-61 rear tyre

Bajaj Pulsar 150NS

Bajaj loves making motorcycles for the country. The company has decided to launch Pulsar 150NS on the lines of the 200NS. Hence the entire pulsar series is going to undergo a major change.
The 150NS will feature a 4-stroke, DTS-i air cooled single cylinder 149cc engine with 4-valve technology. The engine will churn 15.06 PS of power and a torque of 12.5Nm.
Top features:
- 5-speed gearbox
- Telescopic Front Fork with anti-friction bush at the front and rear mono suspension with nitrox
- Wider tyres with disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear
- Split seat, analog plus digital instrumentation

Yamaha Fazer Version 2.0

Yamaha has already launched the altered version of the FZ-S and it is ready to bring in some changes on its tourer -- the Fazer.
Both the FZ and the Fazer are designed on some lined and share platforms as well. The Fazer Version 2.0 features 153cc air cooled, 4-stroke SOHC 2-valve engine that produces 13.1PS power with 12.8Nm of torque.
The engine will come with Blue Core technology that gives better mileage. The fuel system will be a fuel injector.
Top features:
- Telescopic at the front and Monocross suspension at the rear
- Rear radial tyre
Expected launch: Between October-December 2014 with an expected price of around Rs 83,000
