We had invited you, dear readers, to share your love stories!

Here are a few responses we received!

This is how Subhronath Mukherjee met his wife Sonia:

Subhronath Mukherjee with his wife

Our story dates back to 14 years.

I met Sonia through one of our common friends during that time.

It wasn't love at first sight.

We went to the same tuition classes for one year and became very good friends.

After appearing for my engineering entrance exam, I went to Bangalore from Kolkata.

Both of us missed each other during those 2 weeks that we were apart.

She wrote me a letter too.

When I returned, we met at the railway station and she handed over a card to me describing her feelings.

We both realised that we were much more than friends.

Now we are happily married.

She's the best thing that happened to me.

Sumit Bawa from New Delhi also shared his story:

In the year 2002, our first meeting was arranged by our parents.

What's ironic about our love story is that Akil, who would later become my wife, lived 150 meters away from our house for the past 12 years.

However we had never met or seen each other.

When we met, it was love at first sight for both of us.

The memories of our first meeting are still fresh.

We met at Nirulas the famous fast food chain of restaurants.

Akil was wearing a mauve colour top.

She was 20 and I was 25.

We met the second time at Hyatt Regency in New Delhi.

During our courtship period we would talk all night over the telephone and one of those months, Akil incurred a personal mobile bill of Rs 2,700.

Thereafter our marriage was fixed -- we tied the knot on October 2, 2002.

Akil is my pillar of support and inspiration for all things in my life. Love you.

We also received this response from Genevive Pinto who tells us how she met her life partner on a trip to Goa!

I met Rohan on our way to Goa in May 2011.

I was with my cousins and friends while he was with his family.

This was my second meeting with him.

The first time we met, we didn’t even at smile.

He was a complete stranger to me, but we bonded during our Goa trip.

We were together for a week, and that’s when we got to know each other.

On most occasions during the trip, I would ride pillion with him.

I believe, he also wanted me to be with him, but never expressed his feelings.

After we returned from the trip, we spoke to each other the following day and started seeing each other.

We never officially expressed our feelings for the other – till date, Rohan is reminded that he never once expressed his feelings for me.

Looking back, I feel we did not need to express our feelings to connect with each other.

A couple of weeks later I informed my parents that I like him.

My mom’s reaction was not too encouraging which upset me.

My dad was cool about it. With time, my mother accepted Rohan.

After being in a relationship for three and half years, we got married in November 2014.

The Goa journey seems like the best journey I ever had.

I did not know that a week’s journey would give us each a companion for life.
