Online dating app Quack Quack recently conducted a survey to understand dating patterns and preferences among young Indian adults during the pandemic.
The survey conducted in October had 2,000 users aged between 18 and 30 from metros and tier 2 cities across India share their choices.
Gone are the days when the most popular as well as the only way of dating someone was 'meeting in person' over a cup of coffee or a lunch/dinner date at a restaurant, watching a movie together, or going for long drives.
Thanks to the lockdown, over the last few months, virtual dating has become more popular!
Our desi millennials are busy experimenting with multiple options available on online dating platforms -- be it dating at midnight or during lunch hours.
Of course, there is no specific time for using dating apps, but the midnight hour seems to be most popular and preferred by millennials.
Netizens spend a lot of time online to kill boredom with users spending as much as 11 minutes on the app looking at profiles.
It also found that men login about 24 times a day while women spend double the time opening the app to check out their matches, 48 to be precise.

Midnight and office lunch hours are time to date
According to the survey, peak hours when users are super active on the dating app is from 10 pm to 1 am.
The second most active time is during lunch hours, around 1 pm to 3 pm.
The least active time spent is during 6 pm to 8 pm.
Surprisingly, young men are increasingly becoming active in the early hours of the morning around 9 am, while young women are more relaxed and the peak starts to build up around 10 am.
Weekdays are more fun than weekends
Desi millennials are more active on weekdays on dating apps compared to weekends.
Most millenials spend more time on dating apps on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays perhaps beating the weekend blues or to get off the boring office work by browsing matches or chatting on the app.
Interestingly, users have been found to be spending less time on the app on as the week ends, with least actives on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Sundays sees a steady and consistent traffic throughout the day, as people laze around growing through a laid back day.
