Every year, we see a lot of interesting Ganesha idols. While some are made from paper and alum we have also seen idols made from pencils and modaks.

This year, the Seawoods Grand Central Mall in Navi Mumbai is inviting people to experience its unique Ganesha made from old plastic bottles.

More than 10,800 plastic bottles of 200 ml each were used to create this mosaic of Lord Ganesha idol which is now displayed at the SGC Mall.

Artist Abaasaheb Shewale and his team of six people executed the idea in less than four days.

The bottles were painted red, black, blue, green, yellow and white and mounted on a metal mesh frame.

The idol is 20 ft tall and 15 ft wide.

On visarjan day, which falls on September 12, the bottles will be sent to waste plastic management specialists, Rudra En Solutions, who will recycle them and convert into lubricant fuel.
