Here's a simple recipe for you to try at home
The sweet aval, particularly served in South Indian temples during festive occasions, is an instant hit among kids and old alike.
It is easy to make, crunchy to eat and requires no cooking.
Sweet Aval
Ingredients
- 2 cups brown aval (rice flakes)
- 1 cup grated jaggery
- 1 cup thinly sliced coconut
- 1 tsp powdered cardamom
- 2 tsb black sesame seeds
Method
- Wash the aval in water and drain it.
- Allow it to dry for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Add grated jaggery and cardamom to aval. Mix well.
- Garnish with sliced coconut and sesame seeds.
- Serve immediately.
