We asked you, Dear Readers, to tell us how you spent the lockdown and share your best memories with us.
Himesh Mehta, 43, from Mumbai tells us how he learned the importance of fitness during the lockdown.

Himesh Mehta, 43 shares his fitness journey

Initially I found the lockdown very boring. I wasn't used to working from home.

When the lockdown got extended, I realised that this maybe our way of life for the next few months.

That is when the idea of changing work from home to workout from home clicked in my head.

p>All these years, I have been a lazy guy who hardly got involved in any physical activity. I weighed 89 kg.

The lockdown has made me realise the importance of physical fitness. I have been trying to ensure that I don't gain more weight.

Starting April 14, I started walking inside my home and in the passage on my floor.

When I started, I was trying to clock at least 5 km daily. Today I can walk up to 15 km.

It has now become my routine to go for long walks within my house/passage/housing society.

Himesh's workout journey

The best part about working from home is that you are only required to be available on the phone for meetings. The person on the other side can't see you.

I utilised this meeting times to complete my daily walks and it helped me increase my stamina and also reduce weight.

I have managed to bring down my weight to 85 kg without having to change my diet.

It was encouraging to see my colleagues join me and post their regular workouts.

The challenge was to record the workout. The type of workout was not defined. That means we could record exercises, run, walk, yoga or any other forms of physical activity.

I record my daily workout with my iWatch wherein I get daily updates and trends. My watch also challenges me by encouraging me to increase the daily workout schedule or prompt me on my daily routine.

Even after the lockdown, my daily routine and target will not change. One important thing I learned in the lockdown is that your intent is important. Your efforts will pay on its own.

A few months ago, who would have thought that your home and building may become your gymnasium. I have realised that you do not need to hit the gym to be fit.

It has been more than a month since The Lockdown began.
