Cry a lot in the early days after your layoff so that you will be relieved and then start your journey to achieve your next goal -- whatever it may be.

Let the world know you are strong enough to achieve anything. The layoff hurdle is nothing but a matter of time, says an anonymous reader, who shared his 'layoff lesson'.

Yes, layoffs are always painful. I had been the victim too. My experience was very bad in the initial days after I was informed not to attend office the next day. I was shocked and saddened for a moment I was thinking: Is this real or someone is bluffing me?

But after a short span of time I realised that it was real. I was a bachelor when I was fired instantly by the management; the reason being very silly.

I worked for this company for around 1.4 years. How could they do it knowing that when I started the company gave me Rs 6000 per month for 10 months. Later my salary was increased from Rs 6000k per month to Rs 15,000 per month from 11th month for next 6 months.

I was shocked I worked hard for these many days in this company but suddenly they chose to do something which I never expected.

But I realised I need to stop worrying since I need to survive. From seventh day after I was laid off I started applying everywhere I could and to my surprise I recieved an offer within a span of just 15 days with salary of Rs 21,000 per month.

Lesson learn't here is cry a lot in the early days after layoff so that you will be relieved and then start your journey to achieve your next goal -- whatever it may be.

I am sure you will focus 100 per cent and achieve it because you need to live in this world.

Let the world know you are strong enough to achieve anything showing that these hurdles are nothing but a matter of time.

From being laid off to starting off as an entrepreneur

If you are trained and experienced, then stop thinking about your monthly pay package and start to live your life. Do something for yourself, says Raoof Ahmed Khan.

This is a common practice in any industry these days. Now I have a strong feeling that TCS made the headlines at the very early stage, but in the days to come we are going to see more such news coming out of big corporates especially IT/ITES sector because the world over corporates still consider IT and IT infrastructure still a second line item of lesser priority. So they reduce IT head count and IT budget the very first thing when hit by bad days.

I learnt the lesson during 2008-2009 and I was always prepared for any such event since then. Finally on December 20, 2013, I faced it at the end of the day where I was working as Project Manager.

I came out of the company taking a deep breath and told myself 'Don't stop, move on'. Came home informed my wife. And then I seriously started working from January 1, 2014 for my own company 'emerje' (pronounce it as emerge) www.emerje.in.

Now I am struggling with my business and trying very hard to succeed in my business venture.

So friends, if you are trained and experienced, then stop thinking about your monthly pay package and start to live your life. Do something for yourself.

One more thing that I have experienced is that people with experience of between 12-20 years are the very easy targets as they do the same thing that a person with 8 years of experience do and they draw a smaller package.

So people between 12-20 years are just burden to the company. But at the same time these people are he ones who have taken more headaches of bank loans of all types and make their life a living hell.

I wish you all a great success.
