IIT's JAM 2006 on March 26

What: The Indian Institutes of Technology, Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee will conduct the Joint Admission Test on March 26.

JAM 2006 is being conducted for admission to the following programmes:

~ Two-year MSc programmes at all IITs

~ Three-year MCA and M Tech in Applied Geology/ Applied Geophysics at IIT Roorkee

~ MSc-PhD Dual Degree in Physics at IIT Bombay and IIT Kanpur

Are you eligible?

For MSc Biotechnology

~ You must have a bachelor's degree in any branch of Science/ Agriculture/ Pharmacy/ Veterinary/ Engineering/ Medicine (MBBS).

For MSc Chemistry

~ You must have a bachelor's degree with Chemistry as a subject for three years/ six semesters and Mathematics in Class XII.

For MSc Applied Geology/ MSc Geological Sciences/ M Tech Applied Geology

~ You must have a bachelor's degree with Geology as a subject for three years/ six semesters and any two of the followings subjects -- Mathematics/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Biological Science.

~ You must have Mathematics in Class XII.

For MSc Geophysics

~ You must have a bachelor's degree with any two of Physics/ Mathematics/ Geology for at least two years/ four semesters and the third one for at least one year/ two semesters.

For MSc Applied Geophysics/ M Tech Applied Geophysics

~ You must have a bachelor's degree with Mathematics and Physics and any one of the following subjects -- Chemistry/ Geology/ Statistics/ Electronics/ Computer Science.

For MSc Mathematics/ MSc Applied Mathematics/ MSc Industrial Mathematics and Informatics

~ You must have a bachelor's degree with Mathematics as a subject for at least two years/ four semesters.

For MSc Physics/ MSc-PhD Dual Degree Programme in Physics

~ You must have a bachelor's degree with Physics as a subject for three years/ six semesters and Mathematics for at least two years/ four semesters.

For MSc Applied Statistics and Informatics/ MSc Statistics and Informatics/ MSc Statistics/ MSc Mathematics and Computing

~ You must have a bachelor's degree with either Mathematics or Statistics as a subject for at least two years/ four semesters.

For Master of Computer Application

~ You must have a bachelor's degree with Mathematics as a subject.

~ You could be a final year student awaiting your result.

How to apply

~ Obtain the application forms and information brochures on payment of Rs 600 from select branches of Canara Bank across the country.

~ You may also obtain the application material via post from the JAM Office by sending a request along with a self-addressed envelope and a demand draft of Rs 650 drawn in favour of Chairman-JAM, IIT Delhi, payable at New Delhi.

~ You may also apply online by visiting https://jam.iitd.ac.in/.

Important dates

~ Your request for application form and brochure by post must reach the JAM office before December 23.

~ Please send in your completed application form before January 9, 2006.
