The Union Budget 2018, announced on February 1, seemed to have miffed more people than it pleased -- at least going by online conversation trends.

According to a trend report shared by Twitter -- which saw #CommanManKiBaat, #AntiMiddleClassBudget and similar hashtags among the top India trends on Budget day -- the micro-blogging website 'recorded over 14 lakh Budget-related conversations' between Jan 26 to Feb 2.

Twitter said, 'Conversations on Twitter lit up globally as politicians, well-known personalities, and the public took to the platform to express their opinions regarding the Budget. Soon after the Budget speech concluded, the conversations on the platform peaked at February 1st, 2:30PM with over 83,000 Tweets.
