Irish designer Richard Malone was on all fashion watchers' radars before London Fashion Week kicked off. And the upcoming fashion star didn't disappoint with his Spring/Summer 2018 collection at the London Fashion Week.

Vogue noted, 'The more you know about this Irish designer with his knack for kick flares, fluted skirts, and the retina-strobing colors, the more impressive he becomes... But beneath the styling, Malone's sourcing is even more interesting. All those bright colors are woven in Tamil Nadu... by women who are being supported by a government scheme to lift them out of poverty. By becoming self-sufficient in skills, they can send their children to school.'

For his first walking show at LFW, Malone drew inspiration from the pubs on the Irish coast of England which draw all kinds of people -- where suits and dresses quite often mingle with casual clothes.

The crowds loved the stripes, the assymetric silhouettes, and the colours.

Sustainability is high on Malone's agenda. Evening Standard made special note of his use of 'a fabric called Lyocell, which is made from the bark of eucalyptus trees' on duster coats and halter dresses.

Finally, Malone creates for the everyday woman. And all the reviews were unanimous in the verdict that he succeeded in creating a collection that women of all shapes, sizes and ages could and would want to wear.
