For a lot of Indian designers, the Lakme Fashion Week has been the ultimate career launcher.
From Masaba Gupta to Kunal Rawal, several popular designers who are now international icons, started their careers with Lakme's GenNext programme.
To celebrate LFW's 20th anniversary, 31 designers came together to put up a mega show at Jio Gardens in Mumbai on February 11.
And guess who turned showstopper?
IMAGE: Janhvi Kapoor looked charming in a pastel lace gown with fine embroidery as she turned showstopper for designer Masaba Gupta who showcased her exquisite line.
IMAGE: The colourful corals and marine life on the gown made her look like a sea princess.
IMAGE: We bet, you cannot take your eyes off Janhvi and Masaba's showstopping outfit.
IMAGE: Janhvi was joined on stage by Vicky Kaushal who made his debut on the runway totally memorable.
Want to see how the two looked on the ramp? Check out this video below:
IMAGE: Vicky wore a black and white print buttoned kurta designed by Kunal Rawal which he smartly paired with a textured black jacket.
IMAGE: Both showstoppers shared some candid moments on the ramp.
IMAGE: Kunal Rawal looked mighty proud as he introduced his dapper showstopper.
IMAGE: Showstoppers Janhvi and Vicky are seen here with former gennext designers Nachiket Barve, Kunal Rawal and Rahul Mishra.
IMAGE: The collection featured awe inspiring designs in black and white.
IMAGE: Each outfit was styled in layers, adding to the drama.
IMAGE: Like this asymmetrical layered dress with zari and black motifs.
IMAGE: Or this extravagant sari inspired creation with tassels and lace detailing.
IMAGE: We also saw outfits with mirror work embroidery.
IMAGE: And metallic ones like these.
IMAGE: Some of the designs were avant garde.
IMAGE: The menswear line focussed on sustainability.
IMAGE: But we also saw models amp up the outfits with colourful face masks.
IMAGE: Here Archana Akhil Kumar is seen showcasing a chequered gown, but we are yet to figure out how the model wound her head around the striking neckline.
IMAGE: All the designers who were part of the show have come a long way since their first show at the fashion week and couldn't feel any less proud reminiscing their journey. They deserve all the love.
