The 18-yr-old American model has attracted negative attention for posing in a wheelchair.

Kylie Jenner on the cover of Interview magazine's January 2016 issue.

Reality TV star Kylie Jenner sure knows how to be in the news.

A day ago, she posted a picture of her posing for a fashion photoshoot for Interview magazine in …err... a wheelchair.

The wheelchair picture is part of a series of images shot by photographer Steven Klein for the magazine.

Other images from the shoot feature the actor-model showing off her butt and toned figure.

The 18-yr-old posted the picture on image sharing site Instagram and wrote: Plastic doll vibes ;) pulling my face back with tape all day was much worth it for this amazing art cover of @interviewmag with @stevenkleinstudio & #karltempler so dope!!!!

However, Kylie Jenner's new cover shoot has made some disability advocates very furious.

Chelsey Jay, director of Disability for Models of Diversity, said that her organisation was completely against the images of an able Kylie Jenner using a wheelchair.

She claimed that in reality, the fashion industry rejected actual models, who in real life, depend on these mobility aids, yet are excluded for this exact reason.

Jessica Jewett, a wheelchair dependent, said that Kylie posing in a wheelchair when she doesn't actually need a wheelchair was harmful, adding that it was taking away jobs in the media from actual disabled models and actors.

Some even posted pictures of themself in a wheelchair and questioned the model-actor's decision.

@Bendy_Mermaid wrote on Twitter: So disabled models can't get work or advance in the fashion industry but Kylie jenner can use a wheelchair and be classed as edgy.

However, Interview magazine defended the photo shoot, and said they were proud of their tradition of working with great artists and empowering them to realise their distinct and often bold visions.

They stated that Kylie Jenner cover by Steven Klein, which references the British artist Allen Jones, was a part of this tradition.
