Kate Middleton who is touring India along with Prince William chose an elegant dressing style with a few Indian touches.
While she chose an outfit by Indian designer Anita Dongre on Day One, she kicked-off the tour with an outfit by her favourite designer, Alexander McQueen.
Let's take a look at the outfits Kate wore on Day One.
We begin with Kate's favourite designer, Alexander McQueen.
Kate kicked-off the tour with a red paisley print peplum dress by British designer, Alexander McQueen, from their pre-fall 2016 collection.
For the charity gala dinner, Kate chose a blue evening gown. The gown was designed by British designer Jenny Packham.
When Kate stepped out in the afternoon at Oval Maidan, she was dressed in a Gulrukh tunic dress from Indian designer Anita Dongre's collection.
However, Anita Dongre said that she was "surprised" to see Kate wearing one of her creations on the first day of her India trip.
"I was surprised. Her team had contacted us before, but I never knew she has chosen one of my outfits. Watching her pictures wearing my creation was a really proud moment for me," said the designer.
The Mughal-prints inspired tunic was from the Mumbai-based designer's latest Spring/Summer collection titled 'Love Notes', which she showcased at the recently concluded Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016.
"There was something special when she wore the dress. She carried it off beautifully.
"She wore it for a long time -- from afternoon till early evening -- and managed to look fresh throughout," said the designer.
"I have always admired her and loved the way she dresses. She is elegant and feminine and that's what my designs show. She has a strong sense of style and whatever she will be wearing is going to be perfect. Her looks are always a hit and never a miss."
The designer said she would love to create a bespoke design for Kate. "I would like to see her in all my designs but I would love to create a bespoke outfit for her someday," she said.
