Keeping up with the trend of Chinese brands following Apple's design language, the Oppo R15 series too looks like Apple's iPhone X.

The R15 and R15 Dream Mirror Edition replicates the Apple flagship with a 19:9 full screen, 6.28 inch OLED with display resolution of 2280x1080 and a notch on the top for the front 20 MP f/2.0 camera and a earpiece. Only a thin bezel at the bottom separates it from the iPhone X.

Both processors have built in AI engines.

The phones also come with 6 GB RAM, 128 GB ROM and support for memory card.

The R15 series uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the camera to obtain 3D portrait lighting, bokeh and intelligent 120 scene recognition.

The camera also uses Sony's IMX519 image sensor.

The front camera on both the variants is 20 MP f/2.0. with AI Smart Beauty, and the cameras in both the variants support HDR and EIS for sharper videos.

The user interaction of the phone is available through AI driven ColorOS 5.0 based on Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box.

For security, the phone has face recognition, using 128 recognition points for accurate detection.

Both the variants sport Corning Gorilla Glass fifth generation on both sides of the aluminum alloy frame that holds the innards.

The phones retain the old 3.5 mm jack for audio and micro USB for charging and data connectivity.

The R15 series phones support the company's proprietary VOOC fast charging technology. It is said to charge the phone for two hours talk time in just 5 minutes.

How can you get an R15 phone?

There is no news about the R15 series arriving in India, but the Oppo F7, which was launched in India on March 26, seems to be modeled along the lines of the R15 series with a few differences like a 25 MP camera with AI, a full screen display with a notch, but no dual camera.

The front camera remains Oppo's main focus.

If you love the full screen with a notch in an Android phone and you are selfie obsessed this is the right phone for you.
