Honor 9N is the rebranding of Honor 9i already sold in China.

Let's have a look at its specifications.

Design

The Honor 9N sports a notch design with aspect ratio of 19:9.

The manufacturers have been making more use of glass than metal to give the phone a premium look.

The innards are also enclosed in a metal frame with glass protection on front and back, thus that makes the phone brittle.

It is 5.87" tall, 2.83" wide and 0.3 " thick.

For better display, the earpiece and sensor are placed on the top in a reduced space called the notch.

If do not like the notch, you can change your software settings and hide it.

The display on the left and right almost touches the edges to achieve a thin bezel. The bottom bezel is quite visible.

From the rear, the phone looks like an identical twin of Honor 10.

The dual cameras are placed horizontally on the top left corner of the phone like in the Honor 9.

The only difference in Honor 9N is the fingerprint scanner placed ergonomically in the top-centre rear of the phone.

The phone comes in exciting colours like midnight black, sapphire blue, lavender purple and robin egg blue.

Display

The phone swanks a 5.84 inch IPS LCD display with resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels.

Hardware

The phone runs on Huawei's propriety processor HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor with graphics powered by Mali-T830 MP2.

The Octa-core processor is 4 core at 2.36 GHz and remaining is 4 core 1.7 GHz.

The Phone will be available in three variants -- 32/64/128 ROM for storage and 3/4/4 GB RAM as memory respectively.

It supports memory expansion up to 256 GB through the hybrid SIM slot.

Camera

The dual camera on the rear is 13 MP + 2 MP with PDAF (phase detection auto focus). Sadly the EIS or OIS are missing.

The front selfie camera is a 16 MP.

Both the front and rear primary cameras support beauty and bokeh modes.

Software

The phone comes with Android Oreo 8.0, layered with EMUI 8.0 out of the box.

There is a bike feature -- when enabled, it answers the phone automatically. In party mode, you can pair devices and play the same music on all the phones.

Battery

The phone has a 3000 mAh battery, with no fast charging support.

It can be charged through the USB 2.0 port.

The USB 2.0 port is used for data transfer as well.

Verdict

The phone blends beauty and design.

If you love taking selfies and are looking for a well designed phone with exciting colours to choose from at affordable price, then this is the phone to go for.

Honor 9N will be priced at ₹11,999, ₹14,999 and ₹17,999 for 3 GB RAM/32 GB ROM, 4 GB RAM/64 GB ROM and 4 GB RAM/128 GB ROM respectively.

It will be exclusively available on Flipkart at 12 noon July 31, 2018 onwards.
