Here is what we expect will be the top innovations of 2015
The year 2014 brought a lot of exciting gadgets for the tech savvy including smart robots, larger iPhones, June Bracelet, Internet enabled Kolibree toothbrush, etc. The breakthrough technologies that saw the light of the day last year have increased the expectations this year.
Quite a few technologies have already made their way in the CES 2015, which include Quantum Dot and OLED technology, Gogoro Smartscooter etc and many more are expected to join the bandwagon in the coming months.
Here is what we expect will be the top innovations of 2015:
1. OnePlus Two
OnePlus One from the Chinese smartphone makers made great inroads in the market, however even OnePlus was not able to anticipate the marvellous response and in the end were short on supply. This in combination with the confusing invite system made it difficult for the aspiring buyers to get their hands on the device.
We expect the firm to address these issues in 2015 with its much anticipated OnePlus Two that is rumoured to have a 5.2-inch display. With formidable set of specs for OnePlus One, we expect the Chinese firm to up-the-ante further with OnePlus Two.
2. Apple Watch
There have been quite a number of smart watches from the likes of Sony, LG, etc. but the more notable ones have been from Samsung with Galaxy Gear and Motorola's Moto 360. The latter of the two has been more successful as far as sales are concerned but the one firm that we all have wanted a smartwatch from is Apple.
Apple would come out with its highly awaited Apple Watch this year that looks sharp and as expected quite premium with changeable bands.
3. Wi-Fi Enabled Kettle
This is a time-saver for a lot of urban dwellers that allows you to start brewing coffee even when you are laying on your bed in the morning or while you are driving to home from work.
The British manufacturing company, Smarter, allows one to make one cup of coffee by providing a built-in grinder. The gadget is certainly a great tool for anyone who has a busy schedule but would require Wi-Fi connectivity for execution.
4. Oculus Rift
This virtual reality has gained a lot of momentum in the year 2014 and now the virtual reality is all set to hit the market for sale in 2015. This device has succeeded in garnering a lot of popularity with various electronic segments including tourism industry, entertainment industry and gaming industry.
5. Microsoft Lumia 2020 PureView
It has been over a year and half since we saw Nokia Lumia 1020 PureView that had the stunning and much talked about 41MP Carl Zeiuss camera. The follow up has been long overdue but with Microsoft Lumia 2020 PureView, the year 2015 will get the second edition of the popular Nokia model.
Users will get Microsoft Windows 8.1 software platform but it will be the camera strength that will be the interesting factor in the device and the weight that it will carry.
6. Xiaomi Mi5
This gadget is in the list for obvious reasons with Xiaomi Mi4 giving a whirlwind performance in terms of sales by selling thousands in a matter of seconds. Mi4 took everyone by storm offering superb set of specs for a minimalistic price so it would be interesting to see how Xiaomi will top itself with its Mi5.
The gadget will definitely be aimed for developing economies that prioritises value-for-money concept far more than others.
7. Samsung Galaxy Note 5
Samsung has recently followed the trend of providing follow-up to its flagship gadgets inside of a year which has left a sour taste in some people's mouth. But that does not stop the fact that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will still be one of the most anticipated devices in 2015 with the fans dying to know what more can the popular stylus pen possibly accomplish.
Galaxy Note 4 had a 5.7-inch display and this time we might see the display size go higher to 5.9-inch with even sharper display quality and possibly a better design.
8. Apple iPhone 6S/Apple iPhone 6S Plus
The year 2014 was bigger than ever for Apple with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus selling more than the company ever had. Apple brought in drastic changes with a new design, slimmer look and a larger screen size.
The 5.5-inch variant was a refreshing change as well. So it is no surprise that all of us will be looking forward to iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus which keeping the previous trends in mind would have some updates, bug fix and facelifts.
9. Samsung Galaxy S6
Samsung Galaxy S series has lost its touch in the last few years but that does not change the fact that the flagship model from the company would still be a hot favourite in 2015. We expect Samsung to fight back and bring in some drastic design elements along with top notch specs.
The year 2015 looks to be a promising one for the world of technology. It is just the beginning and we can expect lot more interesting innovations to take place later in the year. Another awaited thing in the technology world will be the come back of Nokia but this time using the Android platform. We have already seen Nokia N1 Android tablet and all eyes now are on the Android smartphone by Nokia.
Note: Most of these gadgets are expected in the time to come and we present the leaked pictures to you. The actual images may look different.
