This Navratri, dig into the good old thepla made using rajgira flour.

Rajgire ka Thepla

Rajgira, we all know is loaded with nutrients and makes for an excellent fasting food.

Here's a quick recipe of Rajgira Thepla.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rajgira flour
  • 2 medium sized potatoes boiled
  • Rock salt to taste
  • 1 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp jeera powder
  • Ghee or oil for frying
  • Water for kneading, if required
  • Some rajgira flour for dusting
  • Fresh coriander leaves (optional)

Method

  • In a bowl, mash potatoes and mix with rajgira flour.
  • Add rock salt, chilli powder and jeera powder and make a firm dough. Add water if needed.
  • Make lemon sized balls and roll each softly like a chapati.
  • Use a lot of rajgira flour for dusting, else the thepla will stick to the rolling pin.
  • Heat a non-stick pan, cook on both the sides.
  • Add ghee or oil if necessary.
  • Serve hot with yoghurt.
