This Navratri, dig into the good old thepla made using rajgira flour.
Rajgira, we all know is loaded with nutrients and makes for an excellent fasting food.
Here's a quick recipe of Rajgira Thepla.
Ingredients
- 2 cups rajgira flour
- 2 medium sized potatoes boiled
- Rock salt to taste
- 1 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp jeera powder
- Ghee or oil for frying
- Water for kneading, if required
- Some rajgira flour for dusting
- Fresh coriander leaves (optional)
Method
- In a bowl, mash potatoes and mix with rajgira flour.
- Add rock salt, chilli powder and jeera powder and make a firm dough. Add water if needed.
- Make lemon sized balls and roll each softly like a chapati.
- Use a lot of rajgira flour for dusting, else the thepla will stick to the rolling pin.
- Heat a non-stick pan, cook on both the sides.
- Add ghee or oil if necessary.
- Serve hot with yoghurt.
