If you're fasting, you must try these crunchy flatbreads made with rajgira flour.
During the nine nights of navratri, most people who fast give up rice, dal and wheat flour and instead use substitutes like rajgira flour and sabudana.
Here's an interesting recipe of Rajgire ki Puri.
Ingredients
- 2 cups rajgire flour
- 1 large boiled potato
- Rock salt (as required)
- 1/2 cup water
- A small cup of rajgira flour for dusting
- Oil to fry
Method
- In a mixing bowl, add boil potato, rajgira atta and salt.
- Mix well and gradually add water to knead into a dough soft. The dough should not be sticky.
- Keep this aside for 15 minutes.
- On a dusted work surface, roll medium sized puris, neither too thin nor thick and fry them in hot oil.
- Drain the rajgira puris on paper napkins to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with curd.
