On Rediff Books: The Great Indian Diet by Shilpa Shetty

Shilpa Shetty Kundra has always been one of Bollywood's fittest stars, but one with the soul of a foodie.
And the actor-wellness entrepreneur -- who had turned author in 2015 with the health and fitness book The Great Indian Diet -- is all set to share her love for food with the world.
Her cookbook, The Diary of a Domestic Diva, will feature 50 of her recipes, including some that she has already featured on Instagram.
Shetty says many people reached out to her asking if they can cook quick meals that are not just high on nutrition but also taste.
"The very first thought associated with good food is that it takes a pain-staking amount of time to make. I wanted to shun these doubts and get this generation back to easy home style cooking tips and tricks from scratch rather than ready-made foods through my book," she says.
Scroll down to see how Shetty tackles her favourite meal of the day -- the breakfast.
This breakfast started with Bircher muesli and went on to poached eggs with salmon (instead of bacon under) hash browns and sauteed mushrooms (a bite of brown bread and soft buttery croissant).
Case in point: This 'detox' breakfast of organic smoked salmon and potatoes with linseed oil.
'NO sugar, dairy, juice, fruit grains and meals are still so filling,' she says.
