Managing time is a benchmark of success.
Lose an hour in the morning, and you will be all day hunting for it.' -- Richard Whately, Anglican archbishop and author.
Time is money. And money, today, is more or less the benchmark of success.
That also explains why most successful people don't waste their time, especially on oversleeping.
Here are five reasons why you should start your day early.
1. Helps organise the mind
Waking up early has many benefits, an organised mind being a prime one among them.
An organised mind is the most lethal weapon one can possess. If your mind is organised, you'll be able control all aspects of your life -- mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual.
According to healthambition.com, ''Often one of the least spoken about (yet most important) benefits of waking up early is the impact it can have on your mental health."
"The first hour of your day and how you spend it often sets the tone for the rest of your day and your life. By waking up earlier, you start to reduce the stress in your life by eliminating the need to rush in the mornings. Believe me when I say this will add an incredible amount of positivity to your life and you will start to notice a change in your attitude.''
2. Gives you time to exercise
Working out in the morning preps you for the entire day.
Spending the hours you gain by waking up early on fitness training helps keep your body healthy and in shape.
Early risers also get the additional benefit of working out in the open (which is absolutely free unlike the gyms) before the army of motor vehicles come to claim the road. It's great to get on to the road for a jog before it becomes noisy and unsafe.
3. Sets a calm tone for the day
Rising early keeps you from fretting, and fumbling to a large extent.
Even if it is reading the newspaper, you get more time to pay good attention to what you read, instead of scanning through in a rush.
The effect of a calm morning is usually long lasting, seeing you through the day until you hit the sack with satisfaction at the day's achievements.
4. Helps in maintaining a healthy sleep cycle
Sleep is a critical for a healthy life. A good night's sleep enhances brain functioning, refreshes your entire system, and helps you focus better.
Early risers enjoy a healthy sleep cycle that allows them to give their 100 percent when they're awake.
5. Gives you time to overtake the morning traffic
The morning traffic is the worst enemy of all that is good.
It builds rage in even the calmest mind. It chews and spits out your positive attitude. It mocks your zeal to make the world a better place.
And worst of all, it makes you its sidekick as it goes along clogging roads and minds with rage and restlessness.
If you don't want to be the traffic in traffic jam, leave home early. And to leave home early without a rush, rising early is the key.
A wise man said, 'The morning hour has gold in its mouth.'
If you want to prosper, if you want success to come your way, and most importantly, if you want a calm and composed mind, make use of the morning hours.
