Triumph Motorcycles launched its 2015 Tiger XRx and XCx versions in India with a price tag of Rs 11.6 lakh and Rs 12.7 lakh respectively.
These models come with superior ergonomics for enhanced comfort level and improved design for better durability.

Style upgrades
The stiff double-tube steel trellis frame of the new Triumph Tiger XRx and XCx has been coated with 'Titanium' powder, which increases its life as well as highlights the rugged look. Engine, handlebar, swing-arm and wheels (alloys in XRx version) have been painted in semi-matt finish to provide a sophisticated appearance. They come with redesigned tank side panels, which directs the hot air coming from the engine away from the rider's legs. The new bikes also get a revamped radiator shroud, quick-adjust headlight angle lever, redesigned hand guards as standard equipment and an auxiliary power socket near the ignition switch.
Comfort upgrades
The new Triumph Tiger XRx and XCx comes with improved design geometry which increases the legroom and reduces the pressure on riders' wrists. Both the versions have adjustable handlebars and seats, so the rider can adopt most suitable riding position. The bikes also feature an adjustable fly screen, which can be fine-tuned without any tool.
Engine upgrades
The new Tigers sports the same 800cc, liquid-cooled, inline-triple engine, which powers the existing Tiger 800 XC. However, the updates include an improved heat management system and better fuel efficiency. The DOHC motor continues to deliver 93.7bhp of maximum power at 9,250rpm and peak torque of 79Nm at 7,850rpm.
Suspension upgrades
Suspension systems on the new Triumph Tigers have also been upgraded for better performance.
The new Tiger XRx comes fitted with a Showa suspension set-up, which includes 43mm up-side-down (USD) front forks and a mono-shock suspension at the rear with hydraulically adjustable preload.
To increase the off-roading capabilities of the motorcycle, the new Tiger XCx comes with a fully adjustable suspension set-up powered by WP Performance Systems. It has 43mm inverted front forks with adjustable rebound and compression damping, while the rear gets a single-shock suspension with remote reservoir, adjustable preload and rebound damping. It also comes with a dedicated dirt protector for the RSU body.
Technology upgrades
The 2015 Triumph Tiger XRx and XCx features many advance technologies which come as standard, improving the safety and comfort level of the rider. These upgrades are:
Ride by Wire (RBW): The technology lightens the throttle action, which results in smooth power delivery and enhanced engine control. It also optimises the engine emissions.
Switchable ABS (Antilock Brake System): As you all know that the ABS is a safety feature, which reduces the braking distance of a vehicle and avoids the unexpected traction loss. Now, the new Tigers come with its advanced version, which can be switched between three different modes -- Road, Off-Road and Off. So, you can configure it as per your riding conditions.
Triumph Traction Control (TTC): This feature helps to control traction in varying riding conditions, which increases the rider's confidence. The technology reduces the unexpected spinning of the rear wheel by cutting the engine torque, according to requirements. It results in better lateral grip and provides finer control on any type of terrain. The new Tigers have a three-mode traction control.
Throttle Maps: Different riding and weather conditions need different performance output. For this situation, Throttle maps assist you to control your engine's output via selectable modes. The new XCx and XRx models come with 4 different throttle maps, all of which draw full power from the engine, but with different type of throttle response as:
- For normal/everyday riding, the standard map is "ROAD", which provides a linear and smooth response
- In wet and slippery situations, "RAIN MAP" will assist you by reducing the throttle response
- For freestyle or fun riding, there is "SPORT" map, which makes the response sharper and quicker for less throttle twist
- During the off-road conditions, "OFF-ROAD" map will help you maintain optimal throttle response.
Three Riding Modes: It helps the rider to configure the ABS, TTC and Throttle Map of the bike as per the terrain with a single button. There are pre-set modes for "ROAD" and "OFF-ROAD" settings, which automatically arranges the ABS, TTC and Throttle Map at optimum position. There is a Programmable Rider Mode as well, which gives full controllability to the rider.
Cruise Control: To help rider during the long journeys, Cruise Control has been fitted on the new Tigers, which reduces fatigue and helps in achieving optimum fuel efficiency just with the press of a button. The feature makes the ride hassle free and enjoyable.
Trip Computer: Both the Tiger XCx and XRx comes with a Trip Computer, which provides all the data of your ride like average speed, journey time, average fuel economy, instantaneous fuel consumption and range to empty.
Accessory upgrades
The new Triumph Tiger XCx and XRx comes with a vast range of around 70 accessory options to fulfill various needs of the rider. It includes new slimline heated grips, a 3D mesh low comfort seat, tri-tour aluminium structured luggage system, forged aluminium folding gear pedal, handlebar risers, LED fog lights and much more.
